In Estonia, this habitat type includes, in particular, the species-rich broad-leaved forests of the rubble slopes of the cliffed coast with elm, ash, linden, maple, grey alder, and black alder. The undergrowth in these forests is also rich in species, as the different parts of the rubble slope offer different growing conditions: while in the upper part, the soil can dry out in some places in summer, then below, it is often affected by the spring water seeping from the carbonate rock wall and its’ foot.

The broad-leaved rubble slope forests grow in a very narrow, clearly distinguishable area at the foot of the North Estonian Klint, on the rubble slope of the Salevere cliff, as well as in the canyons of some rivers flowing into the Gulf of Finland (for example, the Valgejõgi River).

Includes the habitat type 1163 (Lunaria site type) and the habitat type group 116 (fresh boreo-nemoral forests) according to Paal.
